CRAZY HIP HOP FASHION Items From The 80s We All Wore!

1980-1989 was a decade that fundamentally changed fashion. When breakdancers chose Adidas shell-toe sneakers for durability, they didn’t know they were starting a revolution. When Run-DMC signed with Adidas in 1986, they proved that hip-hop culture could move major corporations. When Rakim wore oversized Nautica, when N.W.A. rocked Starter jackets, when LL Cool J wore massive gold nameplates—they weren’t just getting dressed. They were rewriting the rules of who gets to decide what America wears.

This is the complete story of how 1980s hip-hop fashion created the streetwear industry, shifted fashion power from New York and Milan to the Bronx and Compton, and proved that culture doesn’t come from the top down—it comes from the ground up.

  1. Watched a few of your videos and they were pretty good. This video wasn’t good you left so many important things out I’m sure it was because of the lack on knowledge. For starters the first hip hop sneaker worn by bboys was prokeds then it was the Puma suede then came the adidas shell toe in that order. There are also so many other clothing items that were left out of this video like sheep skin coats, leather bomber, Kangol hats, British walker shoes, playboy shoes, Jean jackets and jeans with the graffiti names and designs painted on them. There is just so much to Hip Hop fashion than just adidas shell toe and gold chains. You did get some of the detail correct in what was included but there is just so much more.
